Celebrating Corrosion Awareness Day with a Major Industry Milestone
April 24, 2025
Ironically fitting, it’s Corrosion Awareness Day, and we couldn’t be prouder to mark it with a major announcement in corrosion innovation.
We’re thrilled to share that Ahmad Rana has been named the 2025 Project Achievement Award Recipient by the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) for his groundbreaking work in pipeline protection and performance, developed right here in Alberta.
At Integrity Products & Supplies Inc., innovation is woven into everything we do. While CEO Graham Brigham invented the multi-layered insulation system, it was Ahmad who led the research, development, and rigorous field testing, addressing some of the most persistent challenges in the industry:
- Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI)
- Stress-Corrosion Cracking
- Pipeline Thermal Losses
The result? A first-of-its-kind system that enables moisture-saturated insulation to dry in place, without removal. This advancement significantly improves thermal performance, reduces insulation waste, and cuts CO₂ emissions, setting a new standard for sustainability in pipeline operations.
This award-winning innovation has:
- Received approval from the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER)
- Been adopted by leading oil & gas operators
- Generated multiple patents and peer-reviewed publications
- Supported 10 graduate students across Canadian universities
- Launched multi-million-dollar projects and created local employment opportunities
Ahmad’s work exemplifies the impact that focused research and sustainable engineering can have on industry performance, environmental responsibility, and economic growth.
We’re incredibly proud to celebrate this achievement on Corrosion Awareness Day. Congratulations, Ahmad, and thank you for your leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to innovation.
